The library
104 entries, and what each one carries
The library ships inside the app. It is reference material, compiled from public research databases, and it re-ranks itself when you pick your goals.
The grades and the dose ranges come from the databases the app cites in its own source list: the NIH Office of Dietary Supplements fact sheets, NIH NCCIH Herbs at a Glance, MedlinePlus, and Examine. Circa is not the author of that evidence and does not claim to be.
Circa is a personal tracking tool, not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, or prevent any condition, and it gives no medical advice. Its numbers describe your own logs and your own tracker readings, nothing more. Talk to a qualified professional before you change medication, supplementation, or anything else about your health.
Logging
Exact doses, in whatever unit the label uses
- Any amount, any unit. mg, g, µg, IU, ml, drops. Nothing is rounded into a preset for you.
- Exact time. Timing is not a footnote here. The forecast treats an evening stack differently from a morning one.
- One tap from the widget. Your three most frequent items sit on the Home Screen or Lock Screen.
- Siri and Shortcuts. The logging action is an App Intent, so it is available to Shortcuts and to Siri directly.
- Export. A CSV of every intake plus a full JSON dump, through the share sheet, whenever you want it.
The interesting part
Run it as an N of 1 trial
A supplement library tells you what the literature says about people in general. It cannot tell you what magnesium does to your deep sleep. Circa can put a number on that, with the usual caveats attached in public.
Start an A/B trial on an item in your stack. Circa tracks the on weeks against the off weeks, shows the running effect on deep-sleep minutes and the current p-value as the weeks accumulate, and tells you at which week the dose-response readout unlocks. Beside it, the insight ledger keeps every standing effect with its sample size and interval, and retires any effect whose interval fails to clear zero for 14 days straight.
Honesty
What this is not
- Not a reminder app. Circa sends no notifications at all. If you need a nudge to take your stack, use something else alongside it.
- Not a shop. No brands, no affiliate links, no product recommendations.
- No barcode scanner. You pick from the library or type your own item.
- Not advice. Evidence grades and interaction flags are reference information. They are not a substitute for a pharmacist or a doctor, particularly if you take medication.
